For years, the Guernsey County Dog Shelter has been a safe haven for countless dogs in need—lost pets waiting to be reunited with their families, abandoned dogs searching for a second chance, and neglected animals learning to trust again. But today, our shelter is facing a challenge of its own.

The building that once served as a lifeline is now aging, outdated, and in disrepair. Cracked floors, rusting kennels, poor ventilation, and limited space make it increasingly difficult to provide the safe, clean, and welcoming environment our dogs deserve. Every day, our staff and volunteers work tirelessly to give these animals love and care, but the shelter itself is no longer meeting the needs of our growing community.
